Option 2: National callout services

Option 3: A local independent workshop

The thing we’d ask you to compare is not just price but price certainty: a fixed $85 inspection with a written quote before any work beats an open-ended hourly rate every time the fault is bigger than trivial. Say no and you’ve spent $85 for a straight answer. Say yes and it comes off the repair.
Turnaround: standard repairs run same day to 24 hours, parts-dependent jobs 2-3 business days, and the workmanship warranty is in writing. Because we do board-level repair in-house, the faults that draw whole-motherboard quotes from manufacturers, charging ICs, power rails, liquid damage, are often fixed at component level for a fraction of the assembly price. Option 4: DIY
Genuinely fine for some jobs. On plenty of models, RAM and SSD upgrades are one back panel and a YouTube video, and batteries on some machines are nearly as easy. If that’s your fault and your model is accessible, save your money.
Draw the line at screens, hinges, anything soldered, and liquid spills. Those jobs punish enthusiasm, and the teardown that cracks a ribbon cable or shorts a rail routinely turns a $200 repair into an uneconomical one.
